Incompatibilities: MDV: Alkalinisation can cause precipitation as lidocaine is limitedly soluble at pH above 6.5.
Instructions for use and handling, and for disposal: MDV: Resterilisation of Xylocaine is not recommended.
Appropriate control procedures to prevent contamination should be employed, including the following: use of single-use sterile injecting equipment; use a sterile needle and syringe for each new insertion into the vial; rule out the introduction of contaminated material or fluid into a multidose vial.
